BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – Branch County and the surrounding area has been placed under a Winter Storm Warning by the National Weather Service.
Forecasters on Sunday afternoon said the latest snowfall forecast has shifted northwest. They are now calling for Branch County to get between six and 10 inches of snow, a significant increase from earlier forecasts of two to four inches.
The Winter Storm Warning will be in effect from late Sunday night until early Tuesday morning.
Travel is expected to be very difficult during this time with the greatest impacts on Monday night and Tuesday morning.
Forecasters say widespread snow will expand from southwest to northeast Sunday evening and will continue into Monday morning. There will be a lull Monday afternoon before more widespread snow moves back into the area again Monday night. The heaviest snow will be between 7:00 p.m. and 1:00 a.m. Monday night.
Another storm system could bring in more snow from Wednesday night to Thursday night.
