COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency Health Officer Rebecca Burns told the agency’s Board of Health on Thursday that there is some leftover COVID-19 vaccine in Branch County since vaccination schedules did not fill up as fast on Monday as they had in recent weeks.
She says the vaccine will be stored properly and will hopefully be administered in Branch County next week.
Burns said there are still a lot of people 65 and over who are continuing to have problems scheduling a vaccination appointment on line with the Health Agency.
She added there is plenty of vaccine.
Burns also reported COVID-19 testing will take place at their facility on Marshall Road north Coldwater next Thursday, March 4th. The state’s contracted testing company called Honu will conduct drive-up testing. The testing is provided at no cost to residents of Michigan. Burns says this is essentially the same testing that has been done in the past but requires no staffing by the Health Agency.
Burns says since they need their staff to focus on vaccination, this will continue to provide a needed free service to residents of the tri-county area and if it goes well, may be expanded to our other offices.
