GoFundMe page started for family of Hillsdale woman killed in traffic crash

HILLSDALE COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – A GoFundMe page has been organized by the family of a Hillsdale County woman who was killed when a wrong way vehicle struck four others on I-94 in Jackson County last Saturday night.

37-year-old Erica Kas of Litchfield was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash near the 135 mile marker.

It’s hoped $25,000 can be raised through the GoFundMe page for funeral expenses and to set up a trust for her two small children.

A preliminary investigation by the Michigan State Police revealed that a westbound vehicle was in the eastbound lanes.

Several other persons involved in the collision were transported to Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital for various levels of treatment.

According to the State Police, alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the crash.
