COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A request to extend a contract with Republic Services of West Michigan for one year is on Monday night’s Coldwater City Council agenda.
The current contract for refuse and recycling services expires at the end of May. The City has contracted with Republic Services for the past ten years.
The City Council has expressed an interest in rebidding the contract at the end of the current term to ensure that the City is receiving competitively priced services.
City staff has prepared a Request for Proposals for a new five-year contract but with the expiration of the current contract fast approaching, they are requesting consideration of a one-year contract with the current terms remaining in effect during the public rebidding process.
