BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – Long time Quincy School Board member Alan McClellan won Tuesday’s Republican Primary for the 5th District seat on the Branch County Board of Commissioners.
McClellan won Algansee Township and both of the Quincy Township precincts as he finished with 540 votes.
Former County Commissioner Rod Olney was second with 427 votes followed by Daniel Dickerson with 229 votes.
McClellan has served on the Quincy School Board for 14 years and is its current chairman. He was also a Quincy Township Trustee.
County Commissioners Tom Mathew, Randall Hazelbaker, Jon Houtz and Tim Stoll all ran unopposed in Tuesday’s Republican primary.
Houtz will face Democrat Chris Boger in the November 8 general election. Boger was the only Democrat to file in any of the county races.
McClellan, Mathew, Hazelbaker and Stoll will be unopposed in November.
