BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Sheriff’s Department had to investigate two injury crashed that took place within a hour of each other late Sunday afternoon.
The first took place at about 4:15 p.m. on Central Road near Gilead Lake Road when a tire blew out on a vehicle being driven by 26-year-old Stephen Bull of Bronson.
Bull lost control, went off the road and rolled over into a cornfield.
Two boys ages nine and three were transported by Life Care Ambulance to ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital while Bull was taken by personal vehicle to ProMedica.
The injuries to all three were described as non-life threatening.
The Sheriff’s Department says safety belts and proper child restraints were used. The crash remains under investigation.
Bronson Police, Bronson firefighters and Life Care Ambulance assisted the Sheriff’s Department.
The second crash happened about an hour later on north bound I-69 north of Fenn Road.
The Sheriff’s Department says 23-year-old Hunter Wermund of Fort Wayne was heading north when the wheels on his van locked up.
Wermund’s vehicle went off the road and flipped end over end.
A passenger, 20-year-old Selena Mooneyhan of Garrett, Indiana was taken to ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital for treatment of what were described as non-life threatening injuries.
The Sheriff’s Department says seat belts were used.
They were assisted by Coldwater firefighters and Life Care Ambulance
