BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater High School boys varsity soccer team extended their unbeaten streak to seven games with a 3-0 victory at Harper Creek Thursday night.
The win improves the Cardinals record to 8-4-3 overall and 5-0-1 in the Interstate 8 Conference. They will host undefeated Parma Western Tuesday in a game that will determine the league championship. Western beat Marshall 4-0 Thursday.
Coldwater scored all their goals in the first half last night, with Ezaldeen Ahmed getting on the board first with 22:10 to play in the half, assisted by Laith Musa.
Arif Ahmed gave the Cardinals a 2-0 lead with 3:02 to play in the half, assisted by Ahmed. Alkassemi Alkassemi scored the final goal on a penalty kick with 1:31 to play in the first half.
Coldwater outshot Harper Creek 12-0, with Franky Ramos in goal.
The Cardinals will host DeWitt in non-conference action Saturday, with the junior varsity playing at noon and the varsity at 1:30 p.m.
