STURGIS, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater, Quincy and Bronson cross country teams competed on Saturday at the Sturgis Kiwanis Invitational.
The Coldwater boys were seventh in the Division One and Two meet while the Coldwater girls were sixth. Haroon Omar was the top finisher for Coldwater in the boys meet as he was 13th with a time of 17:32.25. James DeWitt was 32nd. Lainey Yearling finished tenth for Coldwater in the girls race with a time of 21:05.64. Eysha Chavez was 29th.
The Bronson boys had five runners in the top 11 as they captured first place in the Division Three and Four meet. Bronson’s Ashton Wells won the gold medal with a first place time of 17:41.08. Aden Hathaway was third, Tyler Wilber was sixth, Perry Lake was eighth and Tanner Norton was 11th. Quincy did not have enough runners for a team score. Quincy’s Jacob Reif was fourth while Caden Troxtle was 18th and Nathan Richer was 26th.
Bronson was second in the girls meet while Quincy was fourth. Bronson’s Ashlynn Harris was second with a time of 20:05.7. Lydia Wells was eighth, Aubrey Mace was 12th, Abbi Ferry was 16th and Kiera Kiser was 24th. Quincy was led by Sadie Miller who was fourth with a season best time of 22.27.94. Brooke McVicker was 17th, Elizabeth Craig was 20th and Kaylyn Brenner was 23rd.
