That included a request from Branch County Prosecutor Zach Stempien to convert an assistant position in his office from part-time to full-time to help alleviate work on attorneys in his office.

In other business, the Commissioners approved a request from the Commission of Aging to fill the part time position of Nutrition Site Coordinator. Whoever is hired would work 18 hours a week and assist the Nutrition Director with overseeing the volunteers who will be serving and delivering meals as the Commission on Aging will be taking over congregate meal service and the delivery of meals to home bound seniors in Branch County on January 1, 2023.
It was also reported that the Reclassification Committee met with each department which requested a reclassification. Three of the departments were requests from previous years, one request was new. No action has been taken by Commissioners but they have asked Norman to check with the Michigan Association of Counties in regards to a Wage Study and the time frame in which a study could be conducted. All of the reclassification requests are being deferred by Commissioners until they can get more information on the Wage Study.
