COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater City Council approved a Intergovernmental Agreement Monday night between the city and the Michigan Department of Technology Management and Budget to enter into the MiSAIL Program in order to upgrade aerial imaging for Branch County.
Coldwater GIS Coordinator Dean Walrack told the Council on Monday night his department recently became aware of an option to obtain updated aerial imagery through the State of Michigan in exchange for parcel, street centerline, and address point layers.
There were already plans to conduct GIS flights this year.
The Coldwater BPU Board of Directors had already authorized a third party bid from Eagleview/Pictometry of just over $101,000.
With the State contract approved by the City Council at just under $40,000, the already approved Eagleview flight will be delayed until at least the spring of 2025.
