COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – For the second year in a row, Elli Foley was voted by her teammates Most Valuable Player for the Coldwater Cardinal girls basketball team. The recognition came during an awards ceremony held Sunday afternoon at the Lakeland Elementary cafeteria.
In other awards voted on by team members, freshman Danika Cox won the Most Improved Player and Sportsmanship Awards, while fellow freshman Rylie VanAken won the Leadership Award and was named Best Defensive Player. The lone senior on this year’s team, Kaitlyn Garcia, received the Coach’s Award.
Coldwater finished the season 23-2 overall, 13-1 in the Interstate 8, and shared the league title with Jackson Northwest.
