UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – The Village of Union City has been waiting 100 Dam Years for Saturday’s celebration of the Riley Hydro Electric Dam that turns 100 years old this summer.
For the first time ever, a concert will be held on the berm of the dam.
Bayou County will be playing the hits of Creedence Clearwater Revival and John Fogerty starting at 7:30 p.m..
Union City’s largest fireworks display will happen after the concert as fireworks are shot off over the dam.
Dam tours will take place between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.. The food trucks will open at 6:00 p.m..
You can take the shuttle from the Union City High School which will depart every 15 minutes from the Florence McNett Field House.
Parking is limited at and near the event site. Handicap parking will be available at the site but do keep in mind this is not a normal event site and has non-paved walkways and unlevel terrain.
All of the events will be free. The fireworks are sponsored by the Union Lake Association, Union City Rotary, Southern Michigan Bank and Trust and the Village of Union City.
