COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Saturday was Veterans Day as it was a time to pause and give thanks to America’s veterans of the Armed Forces. The Coldwater American Legion Post #52, which was founded in 1919, held their annual Veterans Day ceremony which was followed by an open house for the community.
Post Commander Sherman Perkins said it was important to remember that Veterans defend their country every day.
He added Veterans Day was a day to recommit to the well being of Veterans and their families.
The ceremony took place after the Post Honor Guard fired a salute and bugler Jerry Ford performed taps at 11:00 a.m. which marked the exact time on November 11, 1918 when the First World War came to a conclusion.
