BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – If you’re dreaming of a White Christmas in Branch County and south central Michigan, keep dreaming.
It looks like the tree tops won’t be glistening this year as the mild December weather is expected to continue through the Christmas weekend.
With an El Niño weather pattern in full effect, Friday was the fourth time in 16 days the daytime high got into the 50s in Coldwater. That includes last Saturday when the high was near 60 degrees.
The average high for Coldwater on December 15 is 36 degrees.
High temperatures are expected to dip into the 30s on Monday and Tuesday but warm back into the 40s on Wednesday. According to extended forecasts, highs are expected to stay in the 40s through the day after Christmas.
According to the Weather Channel, the Christmas Day forecast in Coldwater is calling for showers and a high of 44.
There has also been a definite lack of snow this Christmas season. There has been no measurable snowfall in Coldwater since November 28.
