UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – The Village of Union City has released statistics from one of their speed signs that has spent the last six months on Goodwin Drive watching and recording data.
Over 53,000 vehicles travel on Goodwin Drive every year with the sign recording an average speed of 23.65 mph.
The top recorded speed was 72 mph on August 19th at 5:06 p.m.. The highest average speeds take place from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m..
The highest volume of traffic happened on July 22 during the “100 Dam Years” celebration.
North Broadway Street is the most traveled road in the Union City with 1-point-8 million vehicles per year.
The speed sign is now located on Calhoun Street. There is also a permanently located sign on North Broadway.
