MENDON, MI (WTVB) – Union City’s track and field teams both finished first on Friday night at the John Green Mendon Invitational.
Union City won the boys meet with 134 1/2 points followed by Centreville with 120 points and Mendon with 94 points.
Chargers winners were Ben Gautsche in the 1600, Jason Shoop in the 3200 and Logan Cole in the shot put and discus. Union City won the 3200 relay. The team was made up of Shoop, Cohen Burdick, Malachi Payne and Gautsche.
Union City won the girls meet with 132 1/2 points. Schoolcraft was second with 122 1/2 points. Mendon was third with 94 points.
First place finishers for the Chargers were Parker Williams in the 400 and Nevada Gillons in the 100 hurdles and the 300 hurdles.
The Chargers got a win in the 400 relay. The team was made up of Alaina Labar, Addison Miller, Attica Hoath and Gillons.
