UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – The Union City Chamber of Commerce is being disbanded after a vote by the Chamber Board during their annual meeting last August.
Under the Chamber by-laws, the Chamber’s remaining general funds will be distributed to one or more regularly organized and qualified charitable, educational, scientific or philanthropic organizations to be selected by the Board as defined in IRS Section 501 (3).
According to the Chamber, Michigan law states the funds maybe used for a charitable purpose, not necessarily a charitable program.
If your organization qualifies for consideration, you’ll asked to submit your proposal in writing to the board. They will meet on Thursday, June 13 at 5:00 p.m. at All Things Serenity at 106 East High Street.
Those who apply are being asked to be prepared to speak to the board and answer questions. The Board will decide the following day on the fund disbursements.
If you have any questions, call Donna Claar at (269) 317-7723.
