UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – The Village of Union City this week is saluting one of its longtime employees on a special milestone.
Assistant Police Chief Corey Wilkinson is celebrating his 30th year of police service with the Union City Police Department. He started July 11, 1994.
Wilkinson was hired by Chief Linda Waite in 1994 and was subsequently promoted to Sergeant in 2013 by Chief Chris Mathis and then again promoted to Assistant Police Chief is 2015.
He is the longest serving Union City police officer in the history of the department and his service spans 41% of the entire existence of the department.
In his 30 years, he has handled over 12,000 police reports.
