Nickolaus Deevers, 40, of Grand Rapids passed away unexpectedly Saturday, August 2, 2025 at his home.
A memorial service will be held Monday, August 11, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
The family will receive friends, prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home. Interment will follow the service at Riverside Cemetery in Tekonsha.
Nickolaus was born June 7, 1985 in Coldwater, MI to Terry & Shari (Bloom) Deevers. He graduated from Tekonsha High School and went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Western Michigan University.
Nick began his career in engineering with Cequent Performance Products and then Disher Design. He performed contract work on his own for a time and was currently working as a self-contractor after 12 years with Steel Case as a Principal Engineer. Nick was very innovative and a leader in his industry with 35 current patents pending on his product designs.
Nick was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed playing golf, hiking and downhill skiing, even working snow patrol for the Cannonsburg Ski Resort. He was a skilled woodworker and loved crafting a variety of items. In his free time, Nick loved to build Legos, teach Ivan how to code, and Ingrid how to cook, he was an excellent chef. Nick enjoyed traveling and found great joy in the time he spent with his children.
Nick is survived by his son Ivan Deevers, his daughter Ingrid Deevers, both of Grand Rapids; his mother Shari Deevers of Tekonsha; his sister Beth Deevers of Union City; his special friend Leah Olsen of Grand Rapids; his niece Lauren Boyer, his nephew Alexander Boyer both of Union City and his grandmother Ester Joann Deevers of Tekonsha.
He was preceded in death by his father Terry W. Deevers and grandparents Charles E. Deevers, John Bloom and Lenora Bloom.
