Michael Andrew Kolivosky, 72, of Howell passed away September 10, 2025 at Trinity Health Ann Arbor Hospital.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
He was born September 29, 1952 in Hillsdale, Michigan to Michael and Florence Kolivosky.
Mike was among the first eighth-grade graduates from St. Anthony’s Catholic School. He served as an altar boy and the Sisters of St. Joseph got to know him well. He graduated from Hillsdale High School and later earned a biology degree from Hillsdale College, followed by a Master of Management degree from Aquinas College.
Michael worked for most of his career in the pharmaceutical industry, where he was known for his quick wit and deep voice.
An avid fisherman from the age of four, Mike loved fishing from his boat on Lake Huron and published articles in fishing magazines. His greatest pleasure was hunting and fishing in Pennsylvania. He was also an excellent gardener, enjoyed canning his world-famous pickles, and especially liked cooking the family Slovak recipes.
He raised and loved Springer Spaniels who were constant companions for over 40 years.
He is survived by his sister, Barbara (John) Martinen of Coldwater, Michigan; brother, Mark (Jacqie) Kolivosky of Johns Island, South Carolina; and brother-in-law Skip Davenport of Coldwater, Michigan. Mike considered himself THE fun uncle, and he is survived by nieces Catherine Sewick, Maria Davenport, and Jordyn Kolivosky; and nephews Daniel Martinen, Michael Martinen and Nicolas Kolivosky.
Michael was preceded in death by his sister Lucy Davenport.
