Janet E. Treacher, 88, of Coldwater, passed away peacefully at Rose Arbor Hospice in Kalamazoo, MI.
Cremation has taken place and private interment of ashes will occur at a later date.
Janet was born August 6, 1937 in Coldwater to Laurence and Valeria (Jacokes) Farner. She married Richard J. Hruska, and he preceded her in death January 16, 1991. Later she married Donald Treacher April 10, 1998 in Las Vegas. He preceded her in death December 17, 2023.
Janet was a lifelong resident of Coldwater and a proud graduate of Coldwater High School. She went on to attend Kellogg Community College, where she earned her Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification. Janet worked at the Community Health Center of Branch County for 20 years before her retirement. Her dedication to caring for others shone throughout her life, both professionally and through her many volunteer efforts.
She volunteered with the Red Cross, working at local blood banks, and served faithfully as an election inspector for Coldwater Township. Janet was also a talented quilter and seamstress who enjoyed gardening, sewing, and crafting beautiful projects to share with family and friends.
An active member of her community, Janet belonged to the Coldwater United Methodist Church, Coldwater Jaycees Auxiliary, and the Beta Sigma Phi International Sorority.
Janet is survived by her children Richard J. (Michelle) Hruska, II, of Kalamazoo, John Hruska of Lowell; her grandchildren Holli Makowski, Thomas Hruska, Andrew McShane, Joe Hruska. In addition to her husbands, Janet was preceded in death by her brother Laurence Farner, Jr., and sister Jean Kinney.
