Dean Allan VanNasdale Sr., 75, of Bronson passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at his home.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Crossroads Bible Church, 1144 Dunks Rd, Sherwood, MI with Pastor Trent Hammond officiating. A luncheon will follow the service at the church.
The burial will be held at 3:00 p.m. at Fisher Hill Cemetery, 211 S Ray Quincy Rd, Quincy, MI.
The family will receive friends for visitation Tuesday, June 16 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel, 111 East Chicago Street, Quincy, MI.
He was born September 25, 1950 in Battle Creek to Harry and Maxine (Potter) VanNasdale. He married Linda (Wood) King September 19, 1980, and she survives.
Dean graduated from Quincy High School in 1968 and went on to serve in the US Air National Guard. Following his service, he started at the phone company in Coldwater where he worked until he retired at age 71 from Frontier Communications.
Having a passion for aviation, Dean received his bachelor’s degree in aviation management from City University of Seattle, WA and for a time managed Branch County Memorial Airport, ran an FBO, and was a flight instructor at Branch County and Hillsdale Municipal Airports. He received the FAA Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award, honoring him for over 50 years of exemplary aviation flight experience.
Dean also enjoyed spending time with family, watching NASCAR, and Michigan football.
Surviving besides his wife, Linda, are five children, Dean (Suzann) VanNasdale Jr. of Colombus, OH, Maryanne (Johan) Thorngren of Novato, CA, Tim (Lynn) VanNasdale of Crown Point, IN, Trent (Kathi) King of Seguin, TX and Darla (Paul) Samons of Jackson, MI; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
