COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – In boys high school basketball, Coldwater was total control Saturday afternoon as they defeated Jackson Northwest 57-26 in an Interstate 8 Conference game at the Coach Floyd Eby Gymnasium.
The Cardinals improved to 5-0 with the win. Coldwater established control in the first half as they built leads of 13-6 after the first quarter and 29-12 at the half.
Coldwater did not let up in the third quarter as they outscored the Mounties 17-5 to extend their lead to 46-17.
Coldwater outshot Northwest 45 to 21 percent and had a 43-27 edge in rebounding.
Brandon Downs and Ethan Crabtree both had 12 points for the Cardinals while Donte Work grabbed seven rebounds. Downs had four steals while Spencer Rodesiler had six assists.

Coldwater also won the J.V. game 51-35.
Quincy lost a non-conference game at Sand Creek 64-50 on Saturday afternoon as the Orioles three game winning streak came to a halt.
Quincy was led by Kyler Economou, who followed his 27 point performance Friday night at Concord with 29 points, 11 rebounds and two assists.
Kyle Rodesiler poured in 12 points, along with 10 rebounds, five assists and two steals. Riley Miner added 5 points, while Corbin Berhel and Ashtyn Morris has 2 points each.
Quincy is now 3-2 overall, 2-1 in the conference.
Quincy won the J.V. game 64-33. Ashtyn Morris led the Orioles with 21 points while Riley Miner had 17 points.
