Amy Belle Roach, 97, of
Coldwater, passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2019 at Maple Lawn Medical Care
Facility in Coldwater.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 from 10:30 –
11:30 AM at the Coldwater United Methodist Church, with the funeral service to
begin at 11:30 AM with Pastor Julie Elmore officiating. Interment will follow
at Oak Grove Cemetery in Coldwater. The family is being cared for by Dutcher
Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Amy was born on June 10, 1921 to Walter Franklin and Lottie Amelia
(Agler) Emans in Celina, Ohio. She was a graduate of Van Wert High School in
Van Wert, Ohio. Amy married Floyd Raymond Roach on January 18, 1944 in San
Diego, California.
She worked as a cashier at the Coldwater Board of Public Utilities for
25 years.
Amy was a longtime member of Coldwater United Methodist Church and was
active in their choir and also a life member of their Women’s Society. She was
a member of the Coldwater Order of Eastern Star # 1. Amy was active as a
Coldwater Band Parent when her children attended school there. She enjoyed
sewing and keeping journals, but she will especially be missed for her devoted
love of family.
She is survived by her children; James W. (Sally Gillespie) Roach of
Portage and Janean Balczo of Coldwater, her grandchildren; Sarah Plum of Ann
Arbor, Mary Roach of Lansing, Susan Spade of Kalamazoo, Stephen (Arlene) Balczo
of Batavia, Ohio, David (Maire) Balczo of Wheat Ridge, Ohio, Jeni Bradburn of
Franklin, Ohio, Paul Balczo of San Francisco, California, Niki (Darren) Terry
of Florida, Elizabeth Balczo of Coldwater and Rebecca (Tim) Arellano of
Sturgis, her great grandchildren; Emily Plum, Jenson Plum, Zachary Spade,
Justin Balczo, Aoife and Vivian Balczo, Damien, Chrissanne, Shiloh and Carron
Bradburn, Tristan and Rache’l Terry, Keegan, Dylan, Logan, Collen, Bella,
Makenna and Olivia Arellano, her great great grandchildren; Julia Kinel and
Lilly Rose Bradburn and her sister; Erlene E. Kilgore of Jackson and many
nieces and nephews. Amy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband
Floyd, her sister Martha Jean Couts, her grandchildren Nish Balczo and Hannah
Bradburn, her son-in-law Eugene Balczo and her grandson-in-law Nathan Santelli.
