Deborah Kay “Deb” Rathbun, 78, of Coldwater, passed away on April 8, 2019 at Ascension Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Deb was born on January 12, 1941 in Gilead Township to Harold and Elsie (Rasler) Keller. She attended school in both Coldwater and Bronson. She later lived in Tekonsha for many years until her marriage to Lee Rathbun in Coldwater on September 1, 1978, after which she made her home in Coldwater. Deb was employed as a bus driver for Coldwater Community Schools, worked at the Coldwater Post Office and was a groundskeeper at the Coldwater Country Club. She had a good sense of humor and enjoyed spending time in the kitchen, cooking and making candy to share with others.
Survivors include Deb’s daughter, Judith Perry of Florida; her sister, Sharron Everett of Tekonsha and her sister-in-law, Mary Lou Keller; several nieces and nephews, a couple of aunts and her special friend, Jack Reed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lee, in 2017; her son, Ricky King in 2010; and her brother, Harold Wellington Keller, Jr.
Memorial donations may be made to the family in care of Lighthouse to assist with final expenses.
