COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Noon Rotary club’s highest honor for members is the Paul Harris Award, and this year’s recipient was announced at a banquet this past weekend. The latest to be recognized by the club is Dan Taylor, who stepped forward Saturday night as a Paul Harris fellow in the annual event for the award named for the founder of Rotary International.
Taylor is the 52nd member of Noon Rotary to accept the honor, which brings a donation of $1,000 from the club in Taylor’s name to the Coldwater Rotary Foundation. He is a 15-year member of the club and served as President for the 2013-14 year while also being a key contributor in various roles to the popular annual Rotary variety show.
Taylor has been equally active in the community as a board member of the United Way and Chamber of Commerce, as well as the finance and foundation boards of the First Baptist Church in Coldwater. Taylor is Vice President of Sales at Infinisource in Coldwater.
It was déjà vu for Taylor. In 2014, he presented the Paul Harris medal to Kevin Sheppard, who spoke Saturday night and introduced his longtime friend at the award ceremony.
The Coldwater Noon Rotary club maintains its tradition of choosing their award winners based on merit and community service while other Rotary Clubs allow their members to purchase their Paul Harris Fellowships.
