COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater City Council is scheduled to take action on a contract Monday night with Amanda O’Boyle to serve as the next Coldwater City Attorney.
The Council voted on March 11 to authorize City Manager Keith Baker and Mayor Tom Kramer negotiate terms of a contract with O’Boyle who has been serving as the Deputy City Attorney in Lansing.
O’Boyle has accepted terms of the contract which includes an annual salary of $146,000.
Kramer said O’Boyle and Coldwater attorney Bill Flickinger were the two finalists interviewed by the Council for the job which was posted in November. It listed an annual salary of between $125,000 and $175,000.
O’Boyle would take over the City Attorney duties from Megan Angell who has announced her plans to retire. She has served as the City Attorney since September of 2016.
The City Attorney is appointed by the City Council and provides legal advice and representation to the City government, its departments, and boards.
The City Manager and the City Attorney are the only appointed officials in the City of Coldwater.
