BETHEL TOWNSIP, MI (WTVB) – A horse was killed when a barn was destroyed in a Bethel Township fire Saturday morning.
The Bronson Fire Department says the blaze at the Dan Elcher property on West Pearl Road west of Block Road was reported at about 9:40 a.m. and caused about $33,000 worth of damage.
The 32 by 60 foot pole barn was fully engulfed in flames by the time firefighters arrived.
The cause of the fire is not known.
Lakeland firefighters were initially called in for mutual aid but they were later disregarded.
No injuries were reported. Firefighters were on the scene for about two hours.
