Gloria Ann “Daisy” Rubley, 86, of Coldwater passed away peacefully Sunday, June 15, 2025 under hospice care at The Meadows of Coldwater with family by her side.
In keeping with Daisy’s wishes, she will be cremated and no formal services will be held.
The family is being served by Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation in Union City.
Daisy was born June 10, 1939 in Chicago, Illinois to William and Vina (Lawniczak) Herman. She was a proud graduate of Bronson High School, Class of 1957, and helped organize many class reunions.
Daisy married Richard Rubley in 1959. Together, they spent 66 years laughing, playing music, and dancing. A duo so talented would be hard to find.
Daisy began her career at LA Darling’s in Coldwater, Michigan. She was a purchasing agent for the Burger King Corporation in Miami, Florida, moved on to the Great Western Sugar Company in Denver, Colorado, and then finally back to Coldwater at the Theodore Bargman Corporation.
Daisy began playing piano at the age of five. In her retirement, she played for many assisted living facilities and nursing homes, including the Burnside Center of Coldwater. Her love for music was second only to her family & friends.
In addition to her loving husband, she leaves behind her children, Eric (Deb) Rubley of Georgetown, TX, Russell (Cindy) Rubley of Virginia Beach, VA, and stepdaughter Kelly Tackett of Coldwater; grandchildren, Jennifer, Kyle, Jimmy, Joshua, and Adelle; eight great grandchildren; her sisters, Sonja Mitchell of Battle Creek and Bobby Kerr of Antioch, IL; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother Billy Herman; and several brothers and sisters-in-law.
Daisy’s laughter, quick wit, sassy personality, and kindness will be missed by many friends and family. So many special thanks to the staff at The Meadows and Oaklawn Hospice. A special thank you for all of the help from Thurston Woods family.
