JACKSON,MI (WTVB) Firefighters in Jackson, rescued two individuals from a burning home on Clinton Street late Wednesday night.
Crews arriving at the scene around 10:00 p.m. encountered heavy smoke and flames engulfing both the first and second floors of the residence. One victim was successfully rescued from the roof of the building, while another was pulled from inside; both were transported to Henry Ford Hospital for emergency care, with one later transferred to the University of Michigan Burn Unit.
A third individual present at the home was taken into custody by the Jackson Police Department at the scene.
This incident followed a separate suspicious fire earlier in the week on Dettman Road that displaced three residents and injured a firefighter due to exhaustion in frigid, subzero conditions. Investigations into the cause of the Clinton Street blaze and the related arrest are currently ongoing.
