BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – The City of Bronson has issued an official “Run Water Advisory” for all municipal water customers, effective Thursday evening, Jan. 22, through Tuesday, Jan. 27,
2026.
The advisory is a proactive measure to prevent residential and commercial water service lines from freezing during the upcoming cold spell.
To ensure uninterrupted water service, City officials advise customers to:
• Maintain a continuous stream of water approximately 1/4 inch in diameter (roughly the size of a pencil) from one faucet in the home or business.
• Utilize a bathtub faucet if possible, as these are less likely to be accidentally turned off.
City Manager Brandon Mersman, says “Taking this simple precaution can prevent the significant cost and inconvenience of frozen or burst pipes inside and outside the home, We want to ensure our residents have uninterrupted service throughout this cold snap.”
The City recognizes that this measure results in increased water usage. Consequently, billing adjustments may be made on a case-by-case basis and will be based on the customer’s previous
water usage history. This advisory is currently set to expire on Tuesday, Jan. 27, though the timeline remains subject to change based on updated weather forecasts.
Residents with questions or concerns are encouraged to contact the City Office during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., at 517-369-7334.
