BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – The Bronson boys cross country team defeated Reading in a Big 8 Conference meet on Tuesday as the Rangers did not have runners for a team score. Bronson’s Ashton Wells finished first with a time of 18:00.06. Aden Hathaway was third followed by Reagan Mayer and Tanner Norton. There was no score in the girls meet as neither Reading or Bronson had enough runners. Bronson’s Grace Welch was second while Jenna Salek was third.
In another Big 8 Conference meet, Quincy was swept by Concord by scores of 24-35 in the boys meet and 27-29 in the girls meet. Three Quincy runners finished in the top 10 in the boys meet as Rhett Reif was second with a time of 16:57.8, Erik Butchart was fourth and Jacob Reif was sixth. Six Quincy runners finished in the top ten in the girls meet. Avery Rufenacht was second with a time of 22:23.7. Sadie Miller was fourth, Grace Lindsley was sixth, Elise Wright was eighth, Kailey Allman was ninth and Abigail Harmon was tenth.
