LANSING, MI (WTVB) – The Michigan State House has passed legislation sponsored by 58th District Representative Andrew Fink which prohibits a political subdivision from enacting any ordinance, rule, or tax relating to the use of a knife or knife-making components that are more restrictive than state law.
The bill was passed on a vote of 66-38.
Fink says his bill would protect the rights of Michigan citizens no matter where they are at in the state.
Fink introduced the legislation right after he took office last January.
The bill now heads to Governor Whitmer’s desk for her signature.
