CENTREVILLE, MI (WTVB) – A Travel Advisory has been issued for St. Joseph County effective at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday afternoon until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday December 24, 2022, to coincide with the National Weather Service-issued Blizzard Warning.
Sheriff Mark Lillywhite says this travel advisory has been issued because road conditions will become hazardous, and in many places, roads will become impassible.
Widespread blowing and drifting of snow will significantly reduce visibility and gusty winds, along with low wind chills, may cause additional hazards.
Lillywhite says all non-essential traffic is being asked to stay off the roadways and the public should not travel unless absolutely necessary.
Anyone who decides to travel should maintain adequate supplies and if a driver becomes stranded, remain with the vehicle.
