STEUBEN COUNTY, IN (WTVB) – Just as it has all summer, smoke from the Canadian wildfires continues to cause problems.
The Indiana Department of Environmental Management has declared Air Quality Action Days for all of northern Indiana including Steuben County for Monday and Tuesday due to fine particulates.
Levels of fine particles are expected to be unhealthy for sensitive groups range as the Canadian wildfire smoke will adversely impact air quality.
Active children and adults, and people with respiratory disease, such as asthma are being asked to limit prolonged outdoor exposure.
People and businesses are urged to avoid activities which lead to ozone and fine particulate formation.
